Case-Based Goal Formulation
Robust AI systems need to be able to reason about their goals and formulate new goals based on the given situation. Case-based goal formulation is a technique for formulating new goals for an agent using a library of examples. We provide a formalization of this term and two algorithms that implement this definition. The algorithms are compared against classification techniques on the tasks of o...
متن کاملCase-Based Reasoning for Tablet Formulation
Case-Based Reasoning is a recent Artificial Intelligence problem-solving methodology where new problems are solved by re-using solutions to similar problems in the past. We use this approach to address the formulation problem for tablets: given the dose of a particular new drug decide which excipients to use as filler, binder, disintegrant, lubricant and surfactant, and the quantity of each, so...
متن کاملCase-Based Design for Tablet Formulation
Case-Based Design (CBD) applies a knowledge-based process to the knowledge commonly associated with Case-Based Reasoning (CBR) systems { the library of exemplars. This paper investigates the problems in using commercial CBR tools, primarily aimed at classi cation applications, for a more knowledge intensive CBD task, and proposes techniques that overcome some of these di culties. This work resu...
متن کاملMahalanobis-Taguchi System-based criteria selection for strategy formulation: a case in a training institution
The increasing complexity of decision making in a severely dynamic competitive environment of the universe has urged the wise managers to have relevant strategic plans for their firms. Strategy is not formulated from one criterion but from multiple criteria in environmental scanning, and often, considering all of them is not possible. A list of criteria utilizing Delphi was selected by consu...
متن کاملCase-Based Adaptation for UML Diagram Reuse
In this paper we present an approach to software design reuse based on Case-Based Adaptation. We show how this approach is integrated in a CASE tool suggesting solutions to the software designer. This approach generates new UML designs based on previous ones, which are stored in a central repository. Two different strategies are described and evaluated experimentally.
